Welcome to Arduino & Pico This subforum covers the rest of the microcontroller family: Arduino Uno, Nano, Mega and Leonardo, the newer Arduino boards, the Raspberry Pi Pico and Pico W, and friends such as STM32, ATtiny, Teensy and SAMD boards. Projects, questions and discussion about these boards all fit here. What belongs here • Arduino and Pico projects, finished or in progress • Comparing boards and choosing the right one • MicroPython, CircuitPython, the Pico C/C++ SDK and the Arduino framework • PIO tricks, timers, interrupts and low-power experiments What goes elsewhere • ESP32 builds: ESP32 projects • Something is broken and you need help: Help & troubleshooting • General chat about the whole hobby: General discussion • Raspberry Pi computers that run Linux: Raspberry Pi & SBCs • Designing your own board: Electronics & PCB design Useful background • The Pico is a microcontroller board, not a mini Linux computer. It runs your one program directly, which is exactly what makes it quick and predictable. • Classic AVR Arduino boards use 5 V logic. The Pico and many newer boards use 3.3 V. Treat 3.3 V pins as 3.3 V only and use a level shifter when mixing the two. • To load MicroPython or a UF2 file on a Pico, hold BOOTSEL while plugging it in and it appears as a USB drive. • An Arduino's onboard regulator is small. Servos, motors and LED strips need their own supply with a shared ground. • Clone boards often use a different USB serial chip, such as the CH340, and may need a driver on some systems. Sharing projects Include a photo, a parts list, a wiring diagram and your code. Credit the libraries and designs you used, and only share files you have the right to share. Board rules • No selling and no paid services. • No malware and nothing piracy-friendly. • Safety warnings about lithium batteries, high current and mains are part of the rules. Mains wiring belongs with qualified people. House rules apply: be kind, English only (other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam.
