Welcome to Tech news.
This board is for the latest news from across the tech world: new consoles and handhelds, phone launches, PC hardware, operating system updates, games industry news, security incidents, AI, the internet, space and science tech. If it is newsworthy and techy, it belongs here.
What belongs here
• Product announcements and launches.
• Software and operating system updates.
• Games industry and platform news.
• Security news, such as major breaches and important updates to install.
• Discussion and opinions on the news.
What goes elsewhere
• Help with your own device: Tech help desk.
• Films, shows and music news: Films, TV, music & anime.
• Jokes about the news: Memes & humour.
• General chat: Off the clock.
How to post news
1. Write a clear, factual title. No clickbait.
2. Name your source in the post, for example the company's own announcement or a well-known news outlet. Posts without a named source may be removed.
3. Summarise the story in your own words. Do not copy whole articles.
4. Add your own thoughts to start the discussion.
5. Search first to avoid duplicate threads.
Rumours and leaks
Put Rumour in the title of anything unconfirmed, and name the source. Do not share stolen material such as leaked source code, internal documents or pirated builds, and do not link to where they can be found.
Rules for this board
• No politics or religion arguments. If a tech story touches on politics, stick to the technology.
• No affiliate links, referral codes or sales pitches dressed up as news.
• No posting personal information from breaches, including your own.
• Respect other opinions. Brand loyalty is fine; brand wars are not.
The usual bits
The general house rules apply: be kind, keep posts in English (anything in another language is translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Use Report on anything that breaks the rules. This thread is locked, so start your own thread when you spot a story worth sharing.
