What belongs here

What doesn't belong here
• Installing custom firmware itself, and other homebrew, goes in Custom firmware & homebrew.
• If a theme crashes your console or your home menu won't load, ask in Help & troubleshooting.
• General chat goes in General discussion.
Starter knowledge
• Official Nintendo themes you already own can still be chosen from the home menu's theme settings. Custom themes need a modified console and a theme installer.
• A custom theme is usually a small set of files: images for the top and bottom screens, optional background music and a description. Keep your work in a folder you can share easily.
• Background music in themes has a size limit, so long or high-quality tracks may need trimming or compressing.
• If a new theme causes a crash at the home menu, removing it with your theme tool or resetting to a default theme usually fixes it.
• Luma3DS can show a custom splash screen at boot. It needs the right format and resolution for each screen.
Sharing a theme
• Post screenshots or a short video of the top and bottom screens.
• Say which tool you made it with and what's included.
• Only share your own work, or work you have clear permission to share.
• Credit every artist, photographer and musician whose work is in it. If you don't have the rights to an image or song, don't include it.
• Sharing your own files directly on KZE is fine. Linking out isn't allowed.
What isn't allowed
• No copyrighted music or art you don't have permission to use.
• No themes containing offensive or adult content.
• No ripped official Nintendo themes, and no tools whose main purpose is piracy.
