Welcome to the Tech help desk. This board is for any tech question that does not fit anywhere else: Windows, macOS and Linux problems, phones and tablets, home Wi-Fi, printers, building or upgrading a PC, choosing a laptop, backups, browser problems and general how-do-I questions. Friendly members will do their best to help. What belongs here • Computer, phone and tablet troubleshooting. • Buying advice for everyday tech. • Networking, Wi-Fi and router questions. • Software questions and recommendations. • Backups, storage and moving to a new device. What goes elsewhere • Minecraft problems: Help & troubleshooting in the Minecraft forum. • Gaming performance on PC: PC gaming. • Tech news: Tech news. • Retro devices and handhelds have their own sections elsewhere on KZE. How to ask for help 1. Say what device, model and operating system you have. 2. Describe the problem and any error messages, word for word. 3. Say when it started and what changed around that time. 4. List what you have already tried. 5. When it is fixed, post what worked so others can learn. Stay safe while getting help • Never share passwords, login codes, recovery keys or full serial numbers. • Never let a stranger remote-control your computer. Genuine helpers here will never ask for it. • Blur personal details in screenshots: email addresses, names, file paths with your name in them, IP addresses and anything else private. • Only download software from the developer's official site or your device's official store. • If a pop-up says your computer is infected and gives you a phone number to call, it is a scam. Rules for this board • No help with piracy, cracks, activation bypasses or getting around paid software. • No help getting into accounts or devices that are not yours. • No hacking, spying or monitoring tools aimed at other people. • No paid support or offers to fix things for money. • Back up before you try anything risky, and suggest the same to others. The house rules The general rules apply: be kind, English only (other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Use Report on anything that breaks the rules. This thread is locked, so start your own thread with your question. Dexter
