Welcome to Xbox General discussion. This is the relaxed corner of the Xbox forum: news, your collection, your setup, favourite games across every generation and anything Xbox that does not have a more specific home.
What belongs here
• News and announcements about Xbox hardware and games
• Collections, limited editions, controllers and accessories
• Favourite games, memories and recommendations
• Comparisons between generations and general opinions
• Quick questions that are not really a technical problem
What doesn't
• Softmods, upgrades and dashboards on the first console: Original Xbox
• RGH, BadUpdate, homebrew and 360 hardware: Xbox 360 & RGH
• Current generation games and Game Pass: Xbox Series X|S
• Anything broken, failing or refusing to boot: Help & troubleshooting, where the right people will see it
Good posting habits
• Use a clear title that says what the thread is about
• Search before posting news, in case someone got there first
• Keep console wars friendly. Liking another brand is allowed, sneering at people is not
• Mark spoilers clearly in the title or at the top of your post
A few things worth knowing
• Microsoft has kept backwards compatibility going for a selection of original Xbox and 360 games on newer consoles, but not every game is included. Check before you assume something will work.
• Modified consoles should stay off official online services. Connecting them risks a ban.
• If you are buying second-hand, ask to see the console running and check it is not banned or locked to an old account.
The rules
We are homebrew-friendly but never piracy-friendly. Do not link, share or request games, ISOs, BIOS files, firmware or keys, and do not ask where to find them. No selling, trading or paid services, and no malware.
The house rules apply here too: be kind, English only (other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Report anything that crosses the line. This thread is locked, so start a new thread here to get chatting.
