Welcome to PS1 & PS2 Help & troubleshooting. Disc read errors, a softmod that will not launch, OPL refusing to see your drive, or an old console that has stopped working altogether: ask here and someone will help you out. What belongs here • Disc reading and laser problems. • Softmod, modchip and ODE issues. • OPL, storage and network loading problems. • Video, sound, controller and memory card faults. What goes elsewhere • General chat and collections: General discussion. • Build logs and mod guides: Mods & ODEs. How to ask so people can help 1. Console and exact model number, for example SCPH-7502 or SCPH-39004. 2. Any mods installed: modchip, ODE, softmod or MechaPwn, with versions. 3. For OPL: version, storage method and how the drive is formatted. 4. What happens, including any error text, word for word. 5. What you have already tried. A clear title helps: "SCPH-77004 OPL not detecting USB drive" gets better answers than "PS2 not working". Quick things to try first • Try more than one disc. If only some fail, the laser or the discs may be the problem. • Clean the lens gently with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton bud, with the console unplugged. • For USB loading, try a smaller drive, a different port and the format OPL expects. • Try a different memory card, video cable and controller to rule them out. Close the loop Post what fixed it so the next person can find it. No piracy We will not help find games or BIOS files, and requests for ROMs, ISOs or BIOS files will be removed. House rules Be kind, keep it in English (other languages are translated automatically), and no spam, keyboard mashing or self-promotion spam. Use Report rather than replying to rule-breaking posts.
