Before you mod
1. Identify your motherboard and dashboard version. They decide which methods are possible.
2. Dump your NAND several times and compare the dumps to make sure they match.
3. Keep your NAND backups and CPU key private and stored somewhere safe. Never post them.
4. Follow a current guide for your exact board and read it all the way through first.
Worth knowing
• RGH needs soldering to the motherboard, and fine-pitch soldering at that. If you are new to soldering, practise on scrap boards first.
• Software exploits avoid soldering but may have their own limits. Read up on what each one can and cannot do.
• The 360's reputation for hardware failure is earned. Good cooling and clean fans make a real difference, especially on early models.
Online play
Keep modified consoles off Xbox Live. Microsoft can and does ban consoles that connect with modifications, and a ban can affect your account as well. If you want to stay online, keep a separate stock console.
The rules
Homebrew is welcome, piracy is not. Do not link, share or request games, ISOs, NAND images, keys, firmware or copyrighted files, and do not ask where to find them. No malware, no selling consoles and no paid modding services.
