Welcome to Help & troubleshooting Stuck on an ESP32, Arduino, Pico or any other microcontroller? This is the place. Nobody was born knowing why their upload fails, so ask away. The more detail you give, the faster someone can help. What belongs here • Upload and flashing failures, missing serial ports and boot loops • Wiring problems, sensors returning nonsense, displays staying blank • Compile errors and library conflicts • Power problems, brownouts and random resets What goes elsewhere • Finished builds to show off: ESP32 projects or Arduino & Pico • General chat and recommendations: General discussion • Home Assistant and ESPHome configuration: Smart home & IoT How to ask so people can help 1. Board: the exact model and variant, for example an ESP32-S3 development board or a Pico W 2. Software: Arduino IDE, PlatformIO, ESP-IDF or MicroPython, with the versions of the board core and key libraries 3. Wiring: a diagram or clear photo showing every connection, and how it is powered 4. Code: a minimal example that still shows the problem, pasted as text rather than a screenshot 5. The result you expected versus what actually happens 6. Full error messages and serial monitor output 7. What you have already tried Quick checks before you post • Try a different USB cable. Charge-only cables are a classic. • On many ESP32 boards, hold BOOT as the upload starts. • Check the serial monitor baud rate matches your code. • Make sure you are not feeding 5 V into a 3.3 V pin. • Confirm all the grounds are connected. • Resets when Wi-Fi starts or motors move often point to a weak supply. Try a better one, or add a capacitor near the board. • Some ESP32 pins are strapping pins or input-only, depending on the variant. Check the pinout for yours. When it is fixed Please post what the fix was. The next person with the same problem will thank you. Board rules • No malware, nothing piracy-friendly, and no selling or paid services. • Safety warnings are part of the rules: lithium batteries need protection circuits, and mains wiring belongs with qualified people. House rules apply: be kind, English only (other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Use Report if something needs attention.
