Welcome to Android TV & streaming boxes. This subforum covers the big screen side of Android: Google TV and Android TV devices, the Nvidia Shield, Amazon Fire TV sticks and cubes, TVs with Android built in, and the many generic media boxes out there. Setups, apps, remotes, launchers, emulation on the TV and media players all belong here. What belongs here • Choosing a streaming box and setting it up. • Media players such as Kodi, VLC, Jellyfin and Plex clients. • Custom launchers and tidying up a cluttered home screen. • Sideloading legitimate apps, using ADB to manage the device, and controllers and remotes. What goes elsewhere • Running the media server itself: Homelab & self-hosting. • Phone-specific chat: General discussion. • Rooting or flashing a phone or tablet: Custom ROMs & root. • A box that will not boot or keeps failing: Help & troubleshooting is fine, or post here with full details. Useful starter knowledge • Sideloading means installing an app that did not come from the device's app store. Only sideload apps from the developer's own official source, and turn the 'unknown sources' permission off again afterwards for apps that do not need it. • Fire TV runs Amazon's own version of Android, so not every Android TV app works the same way on it. • Cheap unbranded boxes often run very old Android versions, rarely get security updates and sometimes ship with dubious software. Be careful what accounts you sign in to on them. • Wired Ethernet usually beats Wi-Fi for high bitrate streaming. Piracy rules (please read) This is the subforum where the line matters most. KZE does not allow: • Pirate IPTV services, 'fully loaded' boxes, or add-ons and apps built for streaming pirated films, TV or sport. • Asking where to find them, or sharing playlists, codes or repositories for them. • Selling boxes, subscriptions or setup services. Kodi and similar players are perfectly fine for your own media and legitimate services. The general KZE rules apply: be kind, English only (other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Please Report anything that crosses the line. This thread is locked, so start your own thread for questions. Dexter
