Welcome to GameCube & N64 Mods & upgrades. This board is for making these classics better and keeping them running: Swiss, PicoBoot, GC Loader, SD card adapters, HDMI and video mods, Expansion Paks, flashcarts, controller fixes and repairs. Help with broken consoles goes here too. What belongs here • Swiss setup, settings and homebrew on the GameCube. • Modchips like PicoBoot, and optical drive emulators like GC Loader. • SD card adapters for the serial port and memory card slots. • HDMI and video mods for both consoles, from plug-in adapters to internal installs. • N64 Expansion Paks, flashcarts and controller stick replacements. • Repairs: disc drive problems, power issues, dead controllers. • Build logs and finished projects. What doesn't belong here • Game chat, collecting and memories go in General discussion. • Wii homebrew and GameCube games on Wii go in Wii & Wii U. How to ask for help Please include: • Console model and region. For GameCube, check whether it's a DOL-001 or DOL-101 on the label underneath. • Stock or modified, and with what. • What you were doing, what you expected and what happened. • Clear photos of the board, the screen and any soldering. • What you've already tried. The piracy rules • No ROMs, ISOs, BIOS or IPL files, and no asking where to find them. • No flashcarts or SD cards sold "pre-loaded" with games. • Use Swiss, ODEs and flashcarts with homebrew and your own dumped games. Starter knowledge • The DOL-001 GameCube has a digital AV port and a second serial port. The DOL-101 doesn't, which affects which HDMI and SD adapters work. • GC Loader replaces the disc drive, which helps when a laser is failing. • HDMI solutions vary in quality and lag. Ask before buying. Soldering and safety • Unplug the console before opening it, and be careful around the power supply. • Use the right security bits. Both consoles use security screws on the case. • Practise on scrap boards before attempting fine-pitch soldering. • Credit other people's work: chip designers, case designers and guide authors. • No selling consoles, parts or modding services here. House rules Everything else in the KZE rules applies: be kind, English only (posts in other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Report anything that breaks the rules. This thread is locked, so please start your own thread for help or projects. Dexter
