How this forum is organised
Threads live in the subforums below, so pick the one that fits best before you post.
• General discussion: setups, docks, cases, storage, first impressions, comparisons with the original Switch and anything that doesn't fit elsewhere.
• News & rumours: Nintendo Directs, system updates, announcements, leaks and speculation, clearly labelled.
• Games & reviews: what you're playing, what's worth buying, recommendations and your own reviews.
• Help & troubleshooting: something isn't working and you need a hand fixing it.
What belongs in the wider Nintendo section instead
• Original Switch, Switch Lite and Switch OLED topics, including homebrew on those consoles, go in the Switch forum.
• Older handhelds and consoles have their own homes: Game Boy, Color & Advance; 3DS & 2DS; DS & DSi; Wii & Wii U; GameCube & N64; and NES, SNES & classic Nintendo.
If a thread is mostly about running a Switch game on the original hardware, the Switch forum is the better place. If it's about how that game runs on Switch 2, post it here.
A few things worth knowing
• The Switch 2 plays most original Switch games, physical and digital, but Nintendo has said not every title is compatible, and some get free or paid upgrade editions. Check before you assume.
• Expandable storage uses microSD Express cards. Ordinary microSD cards that worked in the original Switch aren't supported for Switch 2 games, so read the label carefully before buying.
• Some boxed games are Game-Key Cards: the cartridge acts as a key and the game itself downloads. Worth knowing if you buy second-hand or play offline a lot.
• The Joy-Con 2 controllers attach magnetically and can be used like a mouse in supported games.
• If you're moving from an original Switch, use the official system transfer so your saves and settings come with you.
Homebrew and modding on Switch 2
There's no homebrew board for Switch 2 yet, and that's deliberate. The console is new, Nintendo takes modified consoles and accounts very seriously, and tampering with yours risks bans and losing access to online services and purchases. If genuine, legal homebrew develops, we'll cover it properly and announce it in News & rumours. Until then, please don't post or ask for exploits, modchips, firmware files, keys or anything to do with running copied games. KZE is homebrew-friendly, but never piracy-friendly.
Posting well
• Search first; someone may already have asked.
• Use a clear title that says what the thread is actually about.
• Keep spoilers out of titles and warn people in the first line of your post.
• Be honest in impressions, and kind to people who disagree with you.
House rules
All the usual KZE rules apply here: be kind, write in English (posts in other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing, and no self-promotion spam. If you spot something that breaks the rules, use Report and the team will take a look. This thread is locked, so if you have a question, start a new thread in the subforum that fits.
