Starter knowledge
• SD2Vita sits in the game card slot and lets a hacked Vita use a microSD card. It needs a storage plugin and setup, so it will not work on an unhacked console.
• Once the card slot is used for storage, you cannot use physical game cards at the same time.
• Official Vita memory cards are proprietary. The PCH-2000 and PS TV have some built-in storage; the PCH-1000 does not.
• Use a reputable microSD card. Many problems come from fake or failing cards, so test new cards before trusting them with your data.
• Parts differ between the PCH-1000 and PCH-2000, so check your model before ordering.
Show your work
Photos, a parts list and a short write-up of what went right and wrong make a mod thread genuinely useful. Credit anyone whose guide or design you used.
Safety
• Disconnect the battery before working inside the console.
• Never charge, puncture or crush a swollen battery. Recycle it.
• Take care with ribbon cables and screen adhesives, and use proper tools.
• Back up your saves before changing storage setups.
