How to ask so people can help
Please include:
1. Your device: Steam Deck LCD or OLED and storage size, or the other device you're running SteamOS on
2. Your SteamOS version and update channel
3. The game, emulator or app involved, with its version and the Proton version if relevant
4. What you expected and what happened
5. Any error text, copied exactly, or a photo of the screen
6. What you've already tried, and anything you changed recently
A title like Deck OLED: SD card not detected after update helps the right people find you.
Things to try first
• Hold the power button to force a restart.
• Check for SteamOS and game updates, or try a different update channel.
• For a Proton game, try a different Proton version in the game's compatibility settings.
• Test the SD card in another device. Failing and counterfeit cards are a common culprit.
• Undo the most recent change you made.
• As a last resort, Valve's official recovery image can reinstall SteamOS. Back up first and read the options carefully, as some wipe your data.
When it's fixed
Post what worked and edit your title to start with Solved.
