Hey guys! The PS4 is still loads of people's main console, so here's how to make it feel new again. SSD UPGRADE Every PS4 has a 2.5-inch SATA bay, so an internal SATA SSD is the way to go. • Crucial MX500 1TB: the budget favourite, around $80–90 • Samsung 870 EVO: the premium choice • WD_Black P40 1TB: the usual external USB pick, around $210 Prices change a lot, so check before you buy. Loading times drop noticeably, especially on the PS4 Pro. STOP THE FAN NOISE Most overheating and loud fans come from dust and dried-out thermal paste. Paste dries out after about 3 to 5 years. The fix: open it up, vacuum the heatsink and fan, clean off the old paste with isopropyl alcohol and put fresh paste on. iFixit has a full guide. WHAT DO YOU THINK? • Is an SSD worth it on a PS4 Pro, given its older SATA connection? • Have you ever repasted a PS4? Did it actually make it quieter? • What upgrades have you done to yours? Photos welcome! Sources: GamesRadar, iFixit Got something to add, or a question of your own? Start a thread here, I read every one :) — Dexter
