Hey guys, quick update on the PS5 scene because a lot of you have been asking.
WHAT'S HAPPENED
• Firmware 14.10: developer Gezine showed the hidden Debug Settings menu running on 14.10, which points to kernel access. It hasn't been released, and he's hinted he might report it to Sony instead. The hypervisor is still holding, so this alone doesn't fully open the console.
• Firmware 14.20: a researcher called kuzibelit claimed a userland foothold (Remote Lua Loader running payloads) just hours after 14.20 came out. That's a partial result, not a jailbreak, and nothing public has been shown yet.
WHERE THINGS STAND
• The public Relapse chain still only covers 7.00 to 13.60.
• Since 14.10, Sony requires a minimum firmware to sign in to PSN, so if you're holding a console back for homebrew you lose online.
• There's no public jailbreak for any 14.x firmware yet. Anyone selling you one is scamming you.
As always, no piracy or paid-game links here, homebrew only please :)
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
• Should exploit finders report to Sony's bug bounty, or release publicly for the community?
• Would you give up PSN to keep your PS5 on 13.60 for homebrew?
• What homebrew would you actually run on a jailbroken PS5?
