Welcome to Xbox Help & troubleshooting. Stuck with a console that will not boot, a mod that went wrong or an error code you do not recognise? Ask here and someone will help you out. Every generation is welcome. What belongs here • Consoles that will not power on, boot or read discs • Failed softmods, RGH problems and NAND issues • Error codes, red rings, overheating and fan noise • Controller, video output and hard drive problems What doesn't • General chat and news: General discussion • Planning a mod or upgrade before anything has gone wrong: Original Xbox or Xbox 360 & RGH • Current generation games and Game Pass talk: Xbox Series X|S How to ask so people can help 1. Which console and model (for the 360, the motherboard if you know it) 2. Whether it is stock or modified, and exactly how it was modified 3. What happened just before the problem started 4. What you see: lights, error codes and on-screen messages, word for word 5. What you have already tried 6. Photos of the board or your soldering if it is a hardware problem Please use a descriptive title such as 'Original Xbox stuck on boot after hard drive swap' rather than 'Help please'. When your problem is solved, post what fixed it so the next person can find the answer. Safety first • Unplug the console before opening it. Power supplies, including the original Xbox's internal supply and the 360's external brick, carry mains voltage. • Never open a power brick or internal supply unless you know what you are doing. • If you smell burning or see swollen or leaking components, stop and post photos before you power it again. The rules We help with homebrew and repairs, not piracy. Do not link, share or request games, ISOs, NAND images, EEPROMs, keys or firmware, and do not ask where to find them. Never post your own keys or backups either. Modified consoles should stay off Xbox Live, as connecting them risks a ban. No malware, no selling and no paid repair offers. The usual house rules apply: be kind, English only (other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Report anything that breaks the rules.
