Welcome to PS4 General discussion. Anything goes here: news, setups, collections, games, buying advice and the questions that do not quite fit anywhere else. What belongs here • What you are playing and recommendations. • PS4 news and updates. • Your setup and accessories. • Buying a second-hand PS4 and which model to choose. • Light questions that are more "what do you think?" than "help, it is broken". What goes elsewhere • GoldHEN, payloads and homebrew: Jailbreak & homebrew. • SSDs, fans, paste and noise: Upgrades & repairs. • Something not working: Help & troubleshooting. • PS5 talk: the PS5 forum. Remote Play and the Portal: PlayStation Portal & Remote Play. Buying a used PS4 • Ask for the model number and, if you are interested in homebrew, the firmware version before buying. Sellers often update consoles before selling. • Listen to it running a game. A very loud fan may just need cleaning, but it is worth knowing. • Check the disc drive accepts and ejects discs properly. • Make sure the previous owner has signed out and deactivated it as their primary console. Choosing a model The Slim is a good all-rounder: quiet and compact. The Pro is the pick for a 4K television and enhanced games. The original can be the cheapest but is often the loudest. Keep it friendly Share opinions, not insults. Console wars and model snobbery are not welcome. No piracy Talk about games all you like, but no links to or requests for pirated games, PKGs or where to find them. House rules The usual KZE rules apply: be kind, English only (other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Report anything that breaks the rules. This thread is locked, so start a new thread to join in. Dexter
