A few things worth knowing
• Original Xbox consoles are now old enough that the clock capacitor on the motherboard can leak and damage the board. Many owners remove it as a precaution.
• On any modded console, make and keep a backup before you change anything. On the 360 that means your NAND dump and your console's CPU key, kept privately and safely.
• Modified consoles should be kept off official online services. Connecting them to Xbox Live risks a ban for the console and possibly your account.
• Softmods use software exploits and need no soldering; hardmods involve opening the console and soldering or fitting a chip. Start with whatever your console and skills allow.
The rules
KZE is homebrew-friendly but never piracy-friendly. Do not link, share or request games, ISOs, BIOS files, firmware, dashboards that contain Microsoft's copyrighted files, keys or other copyrighted material, and do not ask where to find them. Back up your own games and use your own console's files. No malware, no selling consoles or modding services and no paid installs.
The usual house rules apply in every subforum: be kind, English only (anything else is translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. If you see something that breaks the rules, use Report. This thread is locked, so head into the right subforum and start a thread of your own.
