Welcome to PSP General discussion. This is the relaxed corner of the PSP forum: the place to talk about the games you love, the ones you have just discovered, your setup and the memories that keep you coming back to this little handheld.
What belongs here
• Favourite games, hidden gems and recommendations.
• Photos of your PSP, collection, shell colours and limited editions.
• Which model you prefer and why, and buying advice for second-hand units.
• Memories, nostalgia and how you got into the scene.
• General chat about the PSP community and homebrew history.
What goes elsewhere
• Installing or fixing custom firmware: Custom firmware.
• Apps, emulators, plugins and themes: Homebrew & plugins.
• Screens, batteries, shells and soldering: Hardware mods & repairs.
• Something broken or not working: Help & troubleshooting.
• PSP Tube questions and feedback go in the PSP Tube forums under KZE apps & projects.
Buying a second-hand PSP
A few things worth checking before you hand over money:
• Does the UMD drive read discs and spin quietly? Drives are a common point of failure.
• Is the battery swollen? Look for a bulging battery cover. A swollen battery should be replaced, not charged.
• Do all the buttons work, especially the shoulder buttons and the analogue nub?
• Is the screen free of dead pixels and heavy scratches?
• On a PSP Go, check the slider and hinge, as these get worn.
Keep it friendly
Model wars are fun up to a point. Everyone has a favourite, and there is no wrong answer between a 1000 and a 3000. Disagree with ideas, never with the person.
No piracy, even in passing
Talking about games is great. Asking where to download them is not. No links to or requests for ISOs, ROMs, firmware files from unofficial sources or cracked apps, and no hints about where to find them. If you want to play your own UMDs from a memory card, dump them yourself.
House rules
Be kind, post in English (anything else is translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Use Report for anything that breaks the rules. This thread is locked, so please start a new thread for your own posts.
Enjoy the chat.
