How this forum is organised
Threads live in the subforums below, so pick the one that fits best:
• General discussion: news, setups, which phone to buy, and general chat about Android.
• Custom ROMs & root: LineageOS, GrapheneOS, Magisk, KernelSU, unlocking bootloaders and flashing.
• Launchers & customisation: home screens, icon packs, widgets and themes.
• Android TV & streaming boxes: Google TV, Nvidia Shield, Fire TV and other media boxes.
• Help & troubleshooting: something is broken or not behaving and you need a hand.
If you are not sure, General discussion is a safe start and a moderator can move your thread later.
What belongs in other forums
• iPhones and iPads go in iPhone & iPad.
• Wear OS watches, fitness bands and earbuds go in Smartwatches & wearables.
• Very old phones, PDAs, e-readers and anything you are bringing back from the drawer go in Reviving old devices (an old Android phone you want to root or flash is still fine here).
• Dedicated music players and Rockbox go in iPod & music players.
• Emulation on Android is welcome in our emulation sections if the thread is mainly about the emulator rather than the phone.
A few things worth knowing
• Always note your exact model number, not just the marketing name. Many phones come in several regional variants with different hardware, and ROMs and guides are usually built for one specific variant.
• Keep a backup of your photos, messages and two-factor authentication codes before you change anything big. Phones fail, updates go wrong and modding wipes data.
• Official over-the-air (OTA) updates bring security fixes. If your phone no longer gets them, that is worth knowing when you decide what to use it for.
• Unlocking the bootloader, rooting and flashing can stop some banking, payment and streaming apps from working, and may affect your warranty. Read the guide in Custom ROMs & root before you start.
Legal and safety rules
• No piracy: no cracked or modded paid apps, no APK sites for paid apps, no licence keys and no help finding any of it.
• No help bypassing Factory Reset Protection (FRP), Google account locks, carrier locks or screen locks on a device that is not yours. Ask about your own devices only, and be ready to say how you got it if a moderator asks.
• No malware, spyware, stalkerware or tools for getting into someone else's phone.
• No selling, trading or paid unlocking or repair services.
The usual house rules
The general KZE rules apply everywhere: be kind and patient, post in English (posts in other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. If you see something that breaks the rules, use Report and the team will take a look.
