Welcome to the ROG Ally, Legion Go & PC handhelds forum. This is home for handheld gaming PCs: the ASUS ROG Ally family, Lenovo's Legion Go range, MSI Claw, and devices from GPD, AYANEO, OneXPlayer and others. Whether you run Windows or a Linux system such as Bazzite or SteamOS, this is the place for it.
How this forum is organised
Threads go into one of two subforums:
• General discussion: news, setups, games, accessories, tweaks and chat about PC handhelds
• Help & troubleshooting: something isn't working and you need a hand
Tweaks and performance tips that you're sharing go in General discussion. If you're stuck, go to Help & troubleshooting.
What belongs elsewhere
• Deciding between a PC handheld and something else? Ask in Which handheld should I buy?
• The Steam Deck has its own forum, Steam Deck & SteamOS
• AYANEO's Android devices and other unusual hardware fit best in Other & obscure handhelds
• Announcements and leaks go in Handheld news & reviews
Starter knowledge for new owners
• Update first. Install Windows updates, then the manufacturer's own drivers, BIOS and companion app, such as Armoury Crate on ASUS devices or Legion Space on Lenovo. Many early issues are fixed by updates.
• Power limits, often called TDP, are the main dial between performance and battery life. Lighter games can run at a lower limit for much longer sessions.
• Frame rate caps, lower resolutions and upscaling options can make a big difference on a small screen.
• Windows wasn't designed for handhelds, so a launcher or Steam's Big Picture mode makes it easier to use with controls.
• Linux options such as Bazzite or SteamOS give a console-like experience on many devices, but support varies by model. Check the project's own compatibility notes and back up before switching.
• The original ROG Ally had a widely reported SD card reader problem. If you rely on SD storage, keep your saves backed up.
• Models, chips and driver support change quickly, so check the latest threads rather than old advice.
Legal and safety
KZE is homebrew-friendly but never piracy-friendly. No links to or requests for cracked games, ROMs, ISOs, BIOS files, firmware dumps or keys, or where to find them. No Windows activation workarounds. No malware, no dodgy debloat scripts from unknown sources, and no selling or paid services.
House rules
The general KZE rules apply across the forum: be kind, English only (posts in other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Use Report on anything that breaks the rules. This welcome thread is locked, so pick a subforum and start your own thread.
