How to ask so people can help
1. Say what you are trying to achieve, not just the line that fails.
2. Language, version, framework and operating system.
3. A minimal reproducible example: the smallest piece of code that still shows the problem. Strip out everything unrelated.
4. What you expected to happen and what actually happened.
5. The exact error message and stack trace, copied as text.
6. What you have already tried.
The forum keeps line breaks but does not format code, so paste code as plain text and keep it short. For larger projects, mention your repository and point to the relevant file.
Never post secrets
Remove API keys, tokens, passwords, connection strings and private keys from code and logs. If a real secret is ever posted or pushed to a public repository, revoke it and create a new one. Editing it out is not enough.
About code you share
• Only post code you have the right to share. Respect licences, and credit the original author when you use others' work.
• If code came from an AI tool, say so, and make sure you understand it before asking others to debug it.
• Code reviews should be honest and kind. Explain why, not just what.
Legal and safety rules
• No malware, keyloggers, stealers, RATs, ransomware or anything designed to harm or spy on people.
• No cheats for online games, anti-cheat bypasses, DRM cracking, keygens or licence bypasses.
• No scraping or automation that breaks a service's terms or targets other people's accounts.
• No paid work requests, job adverts or selling code.
House rules
The general KZE rules apply: be kind, English only (posts in other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Sharing your own project for feedback is welcome; repeatedly advertising it is not. Use Report on anything that breaks the rules.
