Welcome to the Miyoo & TrimUI forum. These small, affordable Linux handhelds are some of the most loved devices in the hobby: the Miyoo Mini Plus, Miyoo Flip and A30, and TrimUI's Brick and Smart Pro, to name a few. They're perfect for pocket-sized retro gaming, and their custom firmware communities are some of the friendliest around. How this forum is organised Threads go into one of three subforums: • General discussion: news, setups, accessories, impressions and chat about Miyoo and TrimUI devices • Custom firmware: Onion, MinUI, NextUI, spruce, CrossMix and how to choose, install and tune them • Help & troubleshooting: something isn't working and you need a hand If a firmware is misbehaving, post in Help & troubleshooting. If you're deciding which firmware to use or sharing tips for one, post in Custom firmware. What belongs elsewhere • Still deciding which small handheld to buy? Ask in Which handheld should I buy? • New model announcements and leaks go in Handheld news & reviews • Anbernic and other Linux handhelds have their own forums in the Handhelds category Starter knowledge for new owners • These devices run Linux and boot straight into games. They're at their best with older systems, roughly up to the PS1 era, though what runs well depends on the model. • Most owners install custom firmware soon after unboxing. It runs from the SD card and usually transforms the experience. Each project supports particular devices, so check its own list for your model. • The SD cards supplied with budget handhelds have a poor reputation. A reputable card from a trusted seller and a backup of your saves will save you a lot of grief. • Some models have had hardware revisions with different screens or internals, which can affect firmware support. Know which version you have. • Firmware projects release updates regularly, so check the latest threads rather than relying on old advice. Legal and safety KZE is homebrew-friendly but never piracy-friendly. No links to or requests for ROMs, BIOS files, firmware dumps, keys or full sets, or where to find them. If your device came with a pre-loaded card, we won't discuss where its contents came from. Dump your own games and BIOS. No malware, and no selling or paid services. House rules The general KZE rules apply in every subforum: be kind, English only (posts in other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Please use Report on anything that breaks the rules. This welcome thread is locked, so pick the right subforum and start your own thread. Dexter
