Starter knowledge
• Exploits are tied to specific firmware versions, and the list changes over time. Do not trust old videos or forum posts. Check the latest pinned news or ask here.
• If you want homebrew, do not update your console until you have checked. Updates can close exploits, and there is no official way to go back.
• Many people keep a console offline once it is on a hackable firmware, and use it only for homebrew and backups.
• Exploits on consoles are often not permanent. You may need to run them again after each reboot.
• Running unsigned code always carries some risk. Back up your saves first, and understand what you are running.
Beware of scams
Any site or video promising a jailbreak for the latest firmware, asking for payment, asking for your PSN details or making you complete surveys is a scam. Real exploits are released publicly by known researchers.
What is not allowed
• No links to or requests for game dumps, PKGs of paid games, firmware files from unofficial sources, keys or where to find them. Dump your own games.
• No discussion of hacking anyone else's console or account, and no tools for cheating online.
• No malware, and nothing designed to damage consoles or steal data.
• No selling jailbroken consoles, paid jailbreak services or access.
How to ask
Include your model, exact firmware version, what you are trying to run, the guide you followed and any error text.
House rules
