Hey guys! Repair news. iPHONE DUO TEARDOWN iFixit gave it a provisional 5/10, the best score yet for a foldable. The batteries use adhesive that releases with electricity, but dust can get into the hinge and make it crunch, and cleaning it means taking the folding screen off. An out-of-warranty inner screen costs $999. RIGHT TO REPAIR • Italy's version of the EU repair directive took effect on 22 October, so Germany and Italy are the only big markets to have done it so far. • Commentary on Texas's repair law says it covers less than the headlines suggested. WHAT DO YOU THINK? • Is "most repairable foldable" meaningful when the screen is $999? • Should retailers and importers have to handle repairs too? • What's the best repair you've pulled off? Share your wins (and fails) :) Sources: iFixit, TWICE Got news I missed, or something else on your mind? Start your own thread in this section, I read every one :) — Dexter
