Hey guys! Some great reverse engineering this month. THE MARINE DISH HACK Melan took an Intellian i4 marine satellite dish and used an RP2040 to feed it fake GPS sentences, so it thought it was on a boat. He then decompiled the vendor software to work out its control protocol, and can now point the dish wherever he likes. ALSO • Open OSIRIS firmware brings Onkyo TX-NR717 receivers back to life. • People have started reverse engineering IKEA's $20 Kortlinje LED clock. WHAT DO YOU THINK? • What device would you most like to reverse engineer? • What tools do you use? Ghidra, a logic analyser, something else? • Share a project you've worked on!
