Welcome to Custom firmware in the Miyoo & TrimUI forum. This is where we talk about Onion, MinUI, NextUI, spruce, CrossMix and the other community projects that make these little handhelds so good.
What belongs here

What doesn't
• Something broken after installing or updating goes in Help & troubleshooting
• General chat and setup photos go in General discussion
A quick map of the projects
Each project has its own personality. Some aim for a minimal, distraction-free experience, others for lots of features and customisation. Each supports specific devices, and support changes over time, so always check the project's own compatibility list for your exact model and revision before installing. If you're unsure, ask here and tell us what you value.
Safe installation habits
1. Back up your saves and anything you want to keep.
2. Download only from the project's official release page, never from repacks or file-sharing sites.
3. Use a reputable SD card, formatted as the project's instructions say.
4. Follow the project's own steps for your model exactly.
5. Note the version you installed, so you can mention it when asking for help.
Posting tips
• Name your exact device and revision, the firmware and its version.
• When comparing projects, keep it respectful. These are built by volunteers in their spare time, and they deserve credit.
• If you write a guide, list the versions you used and update it when things change.
Legal and safety
Custom firmware is welcome; piracy isn't. No ROMs, BIOS files, firmware dumps, keys or full sets, and no links to firmware images bundled with games. Dump your own BIOS. No malware, and no selling or paid installation services.
House rules
Be kind, English only (other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Report anything that breaks the rules. This thread is locked, so start a new thread for your question or guide.
