Welcome to the AYN Odin & Thor forum. AYN's Android handhelds are known for packing a lot of power into a controller-shaped body, from the Odin 2 family to the Odin 3 and the dual-screen Thor. Whether you're emulating demanding systems, streaming from a PC or console, or playing Android games, this is the place for it.
How this forum is organised
Threads go into one of three subforums:
• General discussion: news, setups, accessories, impressions and chat about AYN devices
• Setup & emulation guides: frontends, emulator settings, dual-screen setups, controls and performance
• Help & troubleshooting: something isn't working and you need a hand
Sharing goes in General discussion, teaching in Setup & emulation guides, and stuck goes in Help & troubleshooting.
What belongs elsewhere
• Still deciding whether an AYN is right for you? Ask in Which handheld should I buy?
• New model announcements and leaks go in Handheld news & reviews
• Retroid, Anbernic and other Android handhelds have their own forums in the Handhelds category
Starter knowledge for new owners
• AYN devices run Android, so you build your own setup, usually a frontend such as ES-DE or Daijisho with standalone emulators and RetroArch.
• Explore AYN's own settings for performance modes, fan curves and controller options. Higher performance modes cost battery and make more heat and noise, so use them only for games that need them.
• The Thor's second screen opens up proper dual-screen DS and 3DS play, but each emulator handles it differently. Check our Setup & emulation guides for current methods.
• Some members run Linux-based firmware such as ROCKNIX on supported models. Check the project's own compatibility list before trying, and back up first.
• Use a reputable SD card or the internal storage, and keep backups of your saves.
• Firmware updates change things often. Always say which device and firmware version you're on when you post.
Legal and safety
KZE is homebrew-friendly but never piracy-friendly. No links to or requests for ROMs, ISOs, BIOS files, firmware dumps, keys, cracked apps or paid emulators, or where to find them. Dump your own games and firmware from hardware you own. If a seller included a pre-loaded SD card, we won't discuss where its contents came from. No malware, no APKs from unknown sources, and no selling or paid services.
House rules
The general KZE rules apply in every subforum: be kind, English only (posts in other languages are translated automatically), no spam, no keyboard mashing and no self-promotion spam. Please use Report on anything that breaks the rules. This welcome thread is locked, so choose the right subforum and start your own thread there.
