A few things worth knowing
• Many Sega systems came in several regional versions with different names, cases and refresh rates. Say which region and model you have when asking a question.
• The Game Gear is known for capacitors that fail with age, causing sound and screen problems. A recap is a common first repair.
• Disc-based Sega consoles rely on ageing optical drives. Optical drive emulators let you play your own backups from an SD card or other storage, and they reduce wear on the original drive.
• RGB output gives a much sharper picture than RF or composite on most Sega consoles, if your display supports it.
The rules
KZE is homebrew-friendly and mod-friendly, but never piracy-friendly. Do not link, share or request ROMs, disc images, BIOS files or firmware, and do not ask where to find them. Back up your own games and dump your own BIOS. Homebrew made for Sega systems is welcome when it is shared legally. No malware, no selling consoles or parts and no paid modding services.
