Hey guys! The 3DS scene is still going.
OPENDSP
An open-source replacement for the 3DS's sound processor firmware was released on 17 October. It's been tested on a New 3DS running Luma3DS. It's a really cool bit of reverse engineering.
PRETENDO
Nimbus, the app that switches your 3DS between Nintendo's servers and Pretendo's replacement online network, was updated to 2.2.0 in October. Pretendo brings online play back to games whose servers were shut down.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
• What would you like to see open-source sound firmware make possible?
• Have you tried Pretendo? Which games have you played online with it?
• What's on your 3DS in 2026?
