Hey guys! Sega and retro console news. HOUSE OF THE DEAD: REAWAKENED Sega Amusements unveiled a brand new arcade House of the Dead, debuting at IAAPA 2026. Proper arcade lightgun action is coming back! SONIC Sonic X Shadow Generations has passed 3 million sold, and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds starts its second year on 3 November. ATARI VCS Atari is closing the VCS store on 1 February 2027, but it plans an update that removes the need for its servers, plus an Atari Homebrew app. NEO GEO The NEOGEO AES+ launches 12 November. WHAT DO YOU THINK? • Is there still a future for arcade lightgun games? • Atari opening the VCS to homebrew: a good way to end it? • AES+, or an FPGA box like the Mega SG+? Sources: Arcade Heroes, SEGA, Tom's Hardware, TechPowerUp Got news I missed, or something else on your mind? Start your own thread in this section, I read every one :) — Dexter
