Is a Raspberry Pi still worth it for retro gaming in 2026?

Hey guys! A question worth asking now that Pi prices have gone up. WHERE THINGS ARE • Batocera 43.1 is still the latest, and supports the AYN Thor and Retroid Pocket 6 too. • Recalbox 10 brought Pi 5 support, plus GameCube and Wii. • RetroPie still has no official Pi 5 image. THE PRICE PROBLEM The 2GB Pi 5 is now $77.50 after several price rises. By the time you add a case, power supply, storage and controller, a $60 handheld starts looking very tempting. WHAT DO YOU THINK? • Is a Pi 5 still worth it against a cheap handheld? • Batocera or Recalbox for a living-room build? • Show us your Pi retro setup!
